Killester face a vital duel with Stones

lsl previews

WHILE you have to wait until May for the trophies and titles to be handed out, it's in winter's muck and mire when the hard yards are made and champions are carved out.

If Killester United want to have a say on the destination of this season's title then tomorrow's clash away to Greystones is one acid test they need to pass.

United, in their debut season in the top-flight, sit in third place, five points behind leaders Bluebell United.

Joey Graydon's side has adapted to Senior Division life with relative ease and as the season folds over into the home straight they are right in the mix.

It's games against the likes Greystones, though, that could make or break a title tilt.

Stones need points badly to stay floating above the relegation waterline.

On the tight confines of their Arch Field home they are hard to handle and only Tolka Rovers have managed to come away with a win this season.

Killester United know what is ahead of them tomorrow afternoon, but that doesn't make this trip to seaside any less daunting.

SENIOR DIVISION

UCD v FIRHOUSE CLOVER

Firhouse had to sit out last weekend's action thanks to a frozen pitch while College fell in the Cahill Cup to Senior 1 side Peamount/Moyle Park. The Tallaght side is on the back of a seven game unbeaten streak and should be able to hustle another win tomorrow.

Verdict: Away Win

GREYSTONES v KILLESTER UNITED

Stones' leaky back line comes up against one of the most potent attacks in what should be a highly entertaining clash. United bounced off St Pat's CY last week and they will be looking for a repeat tomorrow. Greystones at home, though, is a tough assignment, but Killester United can etch out a narrow win.

Verdict: Away Win
