Kevin's on march to history in final exam
LEINSTER Senior 'B' boys champions St Kevin's Community College will face the biggest examination of their soccer credentials next Wednesday -- but only after the players pass some real tests.
The Clondalkin school face Cork's Nagle Community College in their very first All-Ireland final at Waterford's RSC next Wednesday.
It promises to be a historic day for Kevin's, but it hardly comes at the perfect time for the players.
On the back of their recent midterm break and just 24 hours after their mock exams are scheduled to conclude, the Kevin's players will line out in the biggest game in their school's soccer history.
Manager Fintan Sheridan, however, admits there is more than enough motivation for the players to do the business on the day.
"Obviously it is less than ideal for the midterm break to be followed by mock exams right up to the day before the game but that is the way it is," said Sheridan.
"It is an All-Ireland final, so the players don't need any extra motivation to get the job done. If they do, however, we can just draw on the feeling we had when we lost last season's Leinster final, and we certainly don't want that again."
