Kenny going for high five in League Cup

HE will make changes to his side for tonight's EA Sports Cup final against Shamrock Rovers with one eye on their league title bid, but Stephen Kenny is not a man who will look down on the competition.

The Dubliner has Premier Division and FAI Cup successes on his managerial CV but the League Cup has been kind to Kenny over the years, as he has won the trophy four times (more than any other manager), all with Derry City, and he hopes to end Dundalk's 12-year trophy famine tonight.

"The priority for us is the league, everyone knows that," says Kenny.

"But this one tonight is a big game, live on TV, we are at home and it's a chance of winning a trophy, a trophy I have enjoyed over the years. We go to one final (Setanta Cup) and were really unlucky to lose in the FAI Cup on Monday. We will make changes for this game today but I am still serious about it. And it would be a big deal to bring a trophy here. Dundalk haven't won anything in 12 years and it's time to change that.

"People sometimes forget that 18 months ago this club was on the floor, so we have come a long way in that time."
