Kenny gets green light to sign two new players
KENNY Dalglish is ready to loosen the purse strings and bring in two new strikers with Jermaine Defoe at the top of his shopping list.
Legendary Liverpool shot-stopper Bruce Grobbelaar revealed that Dalglish was on the verge of bringing a new striking duo to Anfield.
“There are two strikers Liverpool are interested in,” Grobbelaar said.
“I know that Kenny is looking at a South American striker who is playing in Holland and I know that he's quite close in getting another striker.
“I'm not going to be the one to actually tell you who, but I'm sure that the striker will be arriving soon.”
There are reports that the Reds boss is preparing to make a £10million bid for Defoe and Harry Redknapp admitted that the unsettled striker's agent held talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
With only eight goals in their last nine league games, Liverpool are in the midst of a striking crisis and with Luis Suarez suspended for the next five games, Dirk Kuyt and big money flop Andy Carroll are under severe pressure to perform.
