Kenny due back home this week
Stephen Kenny is due back home this week after taking ill in Sweden - but the FAI are staying silent on the timeline for his Irish return.
Kenny felt unwell last Wednesday as his U-21 side were preparing to fly home from their hugely impressive Euro qualifying win in Kalmar.
A statement from Abbotstown said that he was examined by medical staff and "decided to stay behind for treatment at a local hospital."
However, the FAI have not offered any further information on the nature of Kenny's illness, or on the specific details of his return from Sweden.
It is believed that a chest complaint is the reason he stayed behind, and the 47-year-old has spoken to friends to say that he will be back on Irish soil this week.
There is absolutely no anticipation that the problem will affect preparations for next month's vital double header with Italy and Iceland.
But it's understood that Kenny will take a bit more time to recuperate upon his arrival back in Ireland.
It's expected that he will speak in more detail about the unexpected turn of events in Sweden at some stage in the next ten days.
Irish U21 star Troy Parrott has travelled to Greece with Spurs for their Champions League opener with Olympiakos tonight.
