'Keep up the momentum'
PAT Fenlon has told his Shamrock Rovers squad to try and keep up the pace in the race for a third-place place in the Premier Division.
The Hoops' hopes of a top-three finish, and automatic qualification for the Europa League, suffered a dent on Friday night when they were held to a 1-1 draw away to St Patrick's Athletic, their second successive league draw. And Fenlon knows that a win at home to UCD tonight is essential if they are to maintain that pressure on Pats.
"I've said to the lads that we have to go out against UCD and win the game, and that is the attitude we will have towards every game between now and the end of the season," says Fenlon.
"Pats might slip up, they might not, but we want to be in the position to take advantage if they do. Momentum is also really important in football and a win in this game will set us up well for the weekend."
The Hoops are forced into a change as Jason McGuinness is suspended while keeper Barry Murphy's record as an ever-present in the league is in doubt due to injury.
