Play-off needed to 'sort out' Town and Rovers

WHILE THE FOCUS of late has been on the Shield, there are still several League matters that are close to resolution.

Arklow Town A needed a win away to St. Anthony's yesterday (Sunday March 21) in Kilcoole to seal top spot in the Under 10 Premier Division.

Any other result would see Greystones United A crowned champions.

And in the Under 9 Premier Division, a play-off between Arklow Town A and Wicklow Rovers will be needed to see who takes the trophy.

Meanwhile, with both of them confirmed as the top two side's in the Under 9 Division 2, Ashford Rovers and Wolfe Tone Youth Club A are set for a showdown.

Separated by just a single point, the head-to-head scenario was that a win for either team when they clash would be enough to secure the championship trophy.

A draw though would mean that Wolfe Tone could clinch pole position should they overcome local Bray rivals Ardmore Rovers B at the Temple Sportsfield in their final match.

In 11-a-side action, despite the distraction of the, WDSL/SDFL/KFL Alliance League, Wicklow Rovers A need just a single point from their last two games at home to Arklow Town A and Wolfe Tone Youth Club at Whitegates to secure bragging rights in the Under 14 Premier Division.
