JOSE Mourinho will do everything to get Diego Costa on the pitch at Old Trafford tomorrow and has placed him in isolation to make sure he doesn't infect the rest of his squad with a virus.

JOSE Mourinho will do everything to get Diego Costa on the pitch at Old Trafford tomorrow and has placed him in isolation to make sure he doesn't infect the rest of his squad with a virus.

"The problem is that being ill obviously didn't help his recovery process because we didn't want him here at Cobham," Mourinho said. "The medical staff were going to meet him at his house."

Laid low in hospital during the week, Costa has shrugged all season with injury butMourinho gives him a chance.

"Diego has a little chance," Mourinho said. "I'm not saying he can (play). I'm saying that we are trying. We will see what happens between Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Louis van Gaal is definitely planning for a collision with the Premier League's star striker when he meets the man he mentored at Barcelona.

"He's a wonderful coach and to see him as a coach winning trophies in other countries is fantastic," LVG said of Mourinho.

"He will play with him (Costa) when he can because Jose wants to win. He's scored nine goals in seven games - which is remarkable. So he's in good shape but he was ill so you never know."
