Those who questioned Jordan Henderson's importance to this Liverpool team have been well and truly silenced during his spell on the sidelines.

The captain has been sorely missed since he picked up an injury in the first leg of the Atletico tie last month and his possible return for the second leg this evening is a massive boost to Liverpool.

You don't have to dip too far back into the memory banks to recall the time when plenty of people - myself included - were not convinced that Henderson had what it took to lead Liverpool to the biggest trophies in the game.

Well, not only has he become a great leader, but he is also a magnificent midfielder and his absence from the team has left a big hole as they have suffered defeats in three competitions.

The Anfield faithful have started singing Henderson's name for the first time this season as all Liverpool fans now appreciate what a key man he is for Klopp and this team of champions.

Here's hoping he can be at his dynamic best tonight as Liverpool need a special performance from every man to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
