James just Dan-tastic for Swans
Dan James inspired an amazing second-half comeback as Swansea reached the FA Cup quarter-finals with a 4-1 win over 10-man Brentford.
The Bees deservedly led thanks to Ollie Watkins’ 28th-minute strike but Swansea levelled through goalkeeper Luke Daniels’ own goal before James, Bersant Celina and George Byers all scored.
Brentford’s misery was completed by Ezri Konsa’s dismissal and a yellow card for manager Thomas Frank after a touchline bust-up with Swansea striker Oli McBurnie.
It was an incredible turnaround which Wales winger James – who almost joined Leeds last month – was at the heart of.
He won the free-kick which went in off the back of goalkeeper Daniels, while his searing pace took him 70 yards to blast Swansea 2-1 ahead.
James was also involved as last-man Konsa got a straight red for preventing him going through.
Swansea booked a last-eight spot for only the fifth time in their history.
