Iceland call for cool heads in friendly tie
Ireland are more determined that ever to reach the 2018 World Cup finals as they want to honour absent captain Séamus Coleman, John O'Shea has admitted.
Coleman is facing months on the sideline after that horror tackle against Wales but his team-mates have not forgotten him.
"We were thinking it would be great to win the game, it was such an important game and to get the three points, not that it would make up for what happened to Séamus but it would have been fitting if we were able to win," O'Shea told Newstalk.
"Now we have to get to that World Cup for him, for Seamus. We want to do it for everyone in the country but especially for him given what's happened.
Meanwhile, Iceland's captain Aron Gunnarsson says he's hasn't been able to stomach watching the tackle. "I only saw a picture and it looks horrible, I wish him all the best in his recovery. But I didn't want to watch the video," says Gunnarsson.
