Hughton praises 'great value' Gross as Seagulls eye Terriers
Brighton boss Chris Hughton has hailed Pascal Gross as a "great value" signing as the Seagulls prepare for a key clash in their bid to avoid relegation.
The Seagulls shelled out just £3m to lure Gross to the Amex Stadium from Ingolstadt last summer, and the 26-year-old has scored five goals and laid on eight assists in the Premier League.
Brighton face the daunting task of closing their campaign by facing Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in just nine days, leaving today's home clash with Huddersfield all the more pivotal to their safety bid. Hughton's side are three points clear of their opponents, with a game in hand, and six clear of the relegation zone, with Gross' performances catching the eye all season.
"We can certainly speak very clearly and fondly about what he's given us. He's been excellent.
"We've tracked him over the last couple of seasons and credit to our recruitment department that had done a lot of work on him.
"He can play in a few positions but the one he tends to play for us, he can fit into it well with the abilities he has got."
