EVERTON all-but booked their spot in the Europa League knock-out stages with a sizzling 3-0 win over French side Lille at Goodison Park last night.
Toffees manager Roberto Martinez started Irish winger Aiden McGeady and they got off to a flyer to deservedly go in 2-0 to the good at the break.
After a number of half-chances from Lille, it was Leon Osman who broke the deadlock with a clinical finish.
The mercurial Everton midfielder latched onto a Toffees corner to rifle the ball into the back of the net. No more than Martinez's charges deserved.
Everton then doubled their margin on 42 minutes from another corner.
This time it was Phil Jagielka who rose highest to nod home to send the Goodison faithful into raptures.
The Toffees then added a third on the hour mark when striker Steven Naismith turned on a sixpence to hammer home from close range.
