Heary hopeful for new Gypsies

OWEN HEARY hopes that the new crop of talent at Bohemians can live up to the demands at the Dalymount Park club.

Bohs kick off the 2012 season tonight when they take on Portadown in the first round of the Setanta Sports Cup (live on Setanta Ireland, 7.15pm) with a new look-side and a new manager.

Heary is the only experienced player left from last season's squad as new boss Aaron Callaghan has filled out his squad with a lot of unknown, young players as well as signings from other League of Ireland clubs.

"It's not easy when you go to a club like Bohemians, there is big expectation at Bohs and rightly so because it's still a big club," says Heary.

"But we have some good players at the club and they will need to produce week in, week out."

Keith Buckley and Kevin Feely miss out on the visit of Portadown as both are out with injuries.
