Klopp wants full focus for final match

Jurgen Klopp has told his Liverpool players to keep their focus for one more game to make sure of a place in the Champions League.

Thanks to a 4-0 drubbing of a sorry West Ham yesterday, Klopp's side are up to third in the table and a win against already-relegated Middlesbrough next weekend will guarantee the Reds a return to Europe's main club competition.

Manchester United's defeat to Tottenham means they cannot finish in the top four and now need a win in the Europa League final to get into the Champions League.

"If we win, we deserve to be in the Champions League, if not, then we don't. But counting points before you have them is really silly, so we will not do this," said Klopp.

"I said in the dressing room immediately after that we have known for weeks that we will have to go until the end, so that's no problem for us.

"The first sentence the players said in the dressing room was, 'One more time, one more game' and we will stay focused, 100 per cent. We know about the situation."

Jose Mourinho bizarrely insisted that rival clubs would envy his side's position.

"We know it's a big objective, we know that if we lose the final we don't play Champions League, we know that," he said. "But we fight for titles and probably other clubs finishing in the top four would like to be in our position, to try to fight for a title."
