Forde given more time off

DAVID Forde has been left out of the Millwall squad for a pre-season training camp, but the Ireland keeper could end up staying on at the New Den.

Lions boss Neil Harris has decided to omit Forde from the travelling party to a training camp in Portugal next week to give the Galway man more time off following his international commitments.

"Forde is having a longer break so I'm not going to take him. He needs an extra week with his family because he's only just finished playing. He needs to come back refreshed," says Harris.

Forde has been linked with a move away from Milwall following relegation but Harris has hinted that he could stay on. "We're looking for somebody to come in and push Fordey for the number one position," he said.

Meanwhile, Southend United boss Phil Brown is after Irish striker Dave Mooney.
