Finn geared for another roaring Rovers road trip

JUST LIKE the Ireland national team under Giovanni Trapattoni, Shamrock Rovers tend to do a lot of their best work in European games on foreign soil, and midfielder Ronan Finn believes that the Hoops can have another enjoyable away day in Greece tonight.

We have been very good in away games in Europe, our best European games have been the away ones so we have to see if we’re good enough to do that again in Greece,” said Finn ahead of the meeting with PAOK.

“I think we really surprised people with how well we did in Copenhagen and in Belgrade, and we did well to score in London against Spurs, so we can play away from home.

“Ireland are a bit like that under Trapattoni as well, and it’s a good thing to have on your side, the ability to do well away, when the pressure is really on you.

“PAOK are a very good side\[Anthony Pyne\], we know that,” he added. “They beat Karpaty Lviv who looked very\[Anthony Pyne\], very good against St Pat’s in Europe earlier this season, so we have an idea what to expect.

“It’s a big challenge, we know that, but we have prepared as well as possible, we have studied them as much as we can, now we have to go out there and do it on the field.”
