STRIKER Anto Flood is ready to return to the League of Ireland by signing for Sporting Fingal after a spell in Swedish football.
Flood played for St Pats, Athlone Town and Shelbourne and also had a spell with Galway United last season, and his goals for the Tribesmen earned the Dubliner a move abroad last summer when he signed a short-term deal with Swedish top flight side Orebro.
They offered Flood a new contract but he has turned that down and will this weekend sign for Fingal.
"I had the option of going back to my last club in Sweden but the offer wasn't that great so I'm happy enough to move back to the league at home," Flood said.
"I have spoken to Fingal and hopefully I can get it sorted and sign up with them today or tomorrow. Fingal could be a great move for me because they have a very good squad already and I think they'll be right up there challenging next season.
"It's going to be a busy season with the club playing in the Setanta Cup and the Europa League, so they need a big squad and hopefully I can play a part."
Flood will become the second major signing for Fingal following the capture of Greg Bolger from UCD.
