Fergie: We could have scored ten

ALEX Ferguson rubbed salt in Liverpool's wounds after a 3-2 win at Old Trafford by declaring: "It could have been a cricket score".

Fergie said: "It was a game we absolutely dominated and I was saying to myself 'it could've been 10'.

"So when it looked like ending 2-2, it would have been a travesty. They had the momentum when it went to 2-2 but they never offered anything did they?

"They had to depend on decisions from the linesman to get back into the game. I've watched the free-kick since and Torres definitely made a meal of it.

"There's absolutely no doubt. He tried to get John O'Shea sent off," sniped Ferguson, who believes that he has cured his defence of the jitters.

"I spoke last week about our concentration but it was spot on. Our concentration was excellent. The two goals we conceded were not caused by bad defending but bad decisions."

However, Roy Hodgson hit back: "To undermine our performance that much is a little bit harsh. You can make your own decisions. The performance was good and we deserved to get back in the game."
