Fagan brace sees Bohs resume normal service

HIGH-FLYING Bray Wanderers suffered something of a reality check at the Carlisle Grounds last night as visitors Bohemians came away with the points thanks to a 2-1 win, with Chris Fagan grabbing a brace.

Fagan was the only senior striker available last night but he duly delivered for Bohs, who have been struggling to score of late (with only one goal in the last seven and a half hours of league action before last night), hitting the back of the net in the 36th and 46th minute.

Bohs, who would have been expected to win a game like this at the start of the season, took the lead against the run of play. Having had his header from a corner saved, Fagan then reacted quickest to make it 1-0.

Immediately after half-time, as Shane O'Connor misjudged a backheader, Fagan pounced to make it 2-0.

From that point, Bray pressed, with Pat Fenlon's side defending deep.

Gary Dempsey made the last 10 minutes nervy for the visitors after he burst the net with a magnificent effort to make it 2-1, but Bohs held on to claim a vital three points.
