Evra set for stormy Anfield return
MANCHESTER UNITED’S Patrice Evra will make a sensational return to Anfield at the end of this month on the back of another race storm at Liverpool.
Yesterday’s fourth round draw in the FA Cup paired the bitter rivals together in what will be the first game since the infamous clash in October which resulted in Reds striker Luis Suarez recieving an eight match ban for racially abusing Evra.
An FA investigation found that Suarez called Evra a “negro” on ten occasions during the October 15 |fixture.
While Suarez will miss the clash because of that suspension, fears that fans could abuse United’s stand-in skipper were heightened after Liverpool were forced to apologise to Oldham defender Tom Adeyemi after he was subject to racist abuse from a fan in the Kop last Friday.
One player who is relishing the clash is under-fire United striker Wayne Rooney
Rooney, who scored twice as United overcame Manchester City yesterday 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium, wrote on his Twitter account: “What a draw for next round. Another big game. Can't wait for it already.”
