EA Cup final in Tallaght
Shamrock Rovers have been handed home advantage in this season's EA Sports Cup final against Dundalk next month.
The game against Stephen Kenny's Lilywhites will take place in Tallaght Stadium on Saturday, September 16 (kick-off 3.0pm).
Now in its 44th year, the League Cup offers up the first piece of silverware this season for SSE Airtricity League clubs, with the final also due to be broadcast live on eir Sport.
The SSE Airtricity League Premier Division games originally scheduled for Friday September 15 involving Cork City v Dundalk and St Patrick's Athletic v Shamrock Rovers will now be rescheduled.
Dundalk, who saw off Galway United in Monday's semi-final, have won the EA Sports Cup five times overall, while Shamrock Rovers - who ended Cork City's treble chances in Monday's other semi-final - have two successes to their name, while both teams have been on the losing side for a collective 11 times.
While Dundalk have enjoyed great success over Rovers in recent years, the Hoops celebrated a 1-0 win over the reigning Premier Division champions at Oriel Park recently.
