Duffy to make Ireland debut in Bulgaria tie

EVERTON prospect Shane Duffy will make his Republic of Ireland debut in Bulgaria later today as the Derry native is in line to play for the U19s.

Paul Doolin takes charge of the youth team for the first time since his appointment last month as Ireland play the first of three qualifiers against Luxembourg (today), host national Bulgaria (Saturday) and Serbia (Tuesday). And Duffy, who suffered a horrific injury while training with the Irish senior squad in May, will win his first official cap since his switch from Northern Ireland.

"It's a major plus to have Shane Duffy with us too, after what happened to him last May," said Doolin.
