Duff ready to head home
AIRTRICITY League clubs will start trying to line up a deal to land Damien Duff after the former Ireland star confirmed that he will leave Australia and return home before the summer.
Duff is contracted to A-League side Melbourne City until May but due to a knee injury which he sustained last month he will not play for the club again. The Melbourne outfit want Duff to stay on but his mind is made up.
"People are probably sick of me saying that but I'll be home at the end of April, early May and I'll be looking for a job," Duff told RTE's Soccer Republic. "Home is the next port of call."
Ex-Ireland team-mates such as Keith Fahey, Liam Miller and Colin Healy have come home to play in the League of Ireland recerntly and Duff has stated his desire to play in the LOI before he retires.
