DUBLINER Jon Daly has revealed that he's held talks with Ally McCoist about moving to Rangers.
The 30-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season with Dundee United but has an offer to extend his current deal by 12 months.
Rangers can't sign anyone until September 1 due to a transfer embargo with the experienced and versatile Daly one of McCoist's primary signing targets.
The former Irish Under-21 cap revealed: "My agent is doing his bit talking to clubs and Rangers have said that they are interested and are one of the clubs he is speaking to.
"I had a brief chat with Ally McCoist, we were just talking football, nothing to do with contracts.
"I've got a lot of time for Ally. He's a good manager, he's a good man and I've always had a lot of respect for him. It was nice to have a chat with him."
Daly added: "I got the offer of a year's extension from Dundee United in June last year but decided to wait till the end of this season and see what options there are.
"That offer is still on the table and I've kept them in the loop over anyone that I've spoken to."
