DONEGAL teenager Carl McHugh is set for a Wembley final appearance in his debut professional season following Bradford City's Capitol One Cup triumph over Aston Villa, writes Paul Hyland.
Thrown in at the deep end by Bantams boss Phil Parkinson in October, 19-year-old McHugh's form kept him in the team for the Villa semi-final, second-leg despite competition from experienced new signing Michael Nelson.
Northern Ireland's Rory McArdle, McHugh's team-mate at Bradford, never had doubts about the Donegal defender.
"I was always confident that Carl could handle it. He's growing as a player and I really predict big things from him in the future," said McArdle.
