LEAGUE Two side AFC Wimbledon are planning a swoop for Dundalk striker Mark Griffin after his move to Derry City fell through due to compensation.
Derry had planned to sign the striker but were unwilling to match Dundalk's demand for a compensation fee for the player and that has alerted the Dons.
"We had some footage sent across to have a look at. We tried to speak to the Irish FA to see what his situation was, but so far we haven't heard anything back," said Dons boss Neil Ardley.
"He's not someone we've spoken to our board about, so any move is still a long way down the line."
