Dicker poised for return
IRISH midfielder Gary Dicker is poised for a return to action with Championship side Brighton after a six-month lay off due to injury.
The former UCD man has been sidelined since he suffered a broken leg in October, but he has stepped up his recovery in recent weeks and this week took a massive step forward by playing 65 minutes in a reserve game, as he hopes to break into Gus Poyet's promotion-chasing side.
"I'll push for a first-team place but this season our squad is very strong," said Dublin native Dicker, 25.
"We've got players fighting to get on the bench, let alone the first 11. It's a good headache for the gaffer but I'm just delighted to be back on the pitch, hopefully I'll be back playing soon enough for the first team."
Capped six times at U21 level, Dicker joined Brighton in 2009 after spells with UCD and Stockport, and had played in 13 of Brighton's first 16 games this season before that leg break in October.
