Derry do a number on 10-man Bray

DERRY City flexed their muscles and thrashed 10-man Bray Wanderers 4-0 at the Brandywell to show their title credentials.

Stewart Greacen headed the opener and they were two ahead before the half-hour mark when David McDaid latched onto a long ball and chipped the oncoming Darren Quigley.

Quigley's night went from bad to worse when he was adjudged to have taken down Rory Patterson. A penalty was awarded and Quigley was red-carded.

Patterson scored the penalty and then added a fourth after the break.

DROGHEDA United staged a late comeback to stun 10-man Cork City at Turner's Cross.

Daryl Horgan and Vinny Sullivan had given Cork a two-goal advantage but the Drogs hit back in the 40th minute through Tiernan Mulvenna.

Peter Hynes scored a penalty to square things up after the restart and, two minutes later, Shane Duggan was sent off for a clash with Brian Gannon.

The comeback was complete with 10 minutes remaining when Gavin Kavanagh turned the ball into his own net.

ST PATS' 14-year unbeaten record at Oriel Park was maintained last night with an easy 2-0 win over Dundalk.

Stephen O'Flynn gave the visitors the lead in the first half after linking up with Dean Kelly.

John Russell scored Pats' second on the hour mark.
