De Gea lines up laser eye surgery
DAVID de Gea suffers from a congenital eye condition which impacts on his long range vision and is set for summer surgery.
The news will come as a handy explanation for a series of high profile blunders made by the £18m misfit goalkeeper, who is now under severe pressure from understudy Anders Lindegaard
However, Old Trafford medics do not believe that the condition is responsible for the poor form of de Gea, who is they have long known is long-sighted and plays with contact lenses.
United travel to the Emirates on Sunday for their eagerly-awaited clash with |Arsenal, with manager Alex Ferguson expecting to have Phil Jones and Chris Smalling back in action.
“Phil and Chris will be fit,” said |Ferguson.
