Crues a great club: Callaghan

BOHEMIANS boss Aaron Callaghan (pictured) is in for an emotional evening as he takes the Gypsies to Belfast to face his former club, Crusaders, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.

"It was one of the best clubs I have been at in my career and I don't say that lightly, having played for 20-odd years," said Callaghan, who managed the Crues for a spell (1998-99) as well as playing for the club.

It's an early test of the strength of the Bohs squad as Keith Ward, John O'Connor, Danny Joyce and Owen Heary are all doubtful while Dave Mulcahy is still sidelined.

SHAMROCK Rovers begin the defence of their Setanta Cup title with a home tie against Cliftonville tonight with new signing Daryl Kavanagh hoping to make his debut.

The former St Pats man was suspended for the opening game of the league season on Friday but he's added to the squad for this game along with Gary McCabe. But Killian Brennan is suspended while Ciaran Kilduff and Conor McCormack remain on the injury list.
