Coleman still the worry for Irish boss
MARTIN O'Neill was today anxiously awaiting injury updates on some of his players as he plans for the next batch of Euro 2016 qualifiers.
Seamus Coleman (above), who is being linked with a £20 million summer move to Chelsea, was once again not involved for Everton as they played out a 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday.
It is the third game Coleman has missed for the Toffees since he picked up a head injury in a Europa League game.
O'Neill is hoping that Coleman can recover in time to feature for Everton as they prepare for clashes this week with Krasnodar (Thursday) and Manchester United (Sunday).
With the Ireland squad due to link up in Dublin next week before that home game against Gibraltar on Saturday week, and because of added medical concerns due to the nature of the injury, O'Neill needs Coleman to prove his fitness before his club release him for international duty.
Midfielder David Meyler is also a concern as he was not in the Hull City squad for their Premier League defeat to Manchester City due to a back injury.
O'Neill last week named a 37-man squad for the double header against Gibraltar and Germany but will trim that down later this week.
