Classy Crumlin can Kill' off United

Two of the LSL's big guns put their reputations on the line tomorrow as Phoenix and Crumlin United travel to a couple of Senior 1B upstarts hoping to avoid FAI Intermediate Cup humiliation.

The Nix will take on Lucan United in their fourth round replay while Killester United will look to take apart Crumlin United's hopes of a third national title at Haddon Park, and in turn book a place in the last eight for the first time.

Killester have been in top form since their arrival on the intermediate scene at the start of the year. They are one of the favourites to secure promotion from Division 1B and have lost just twice this season in all competitions.

Joey Graydon's side has done plenty of damage in the Intermediate Cup so far, as Newbridge Town and Wayside Celtic will testify. It was Killester's victory over Wayside, though, that sent shockwaves through the grade as the former FAI Junior Cup winners picked apart the LSL champions by four goals to one.

Crumlin, though, will not be too worried about previous results.

Martin Loughran's side has become battled hardened in this competition over the past few seasons and have come through plenty of tough away days.

FAI INTERMEDIATE CUP 4th Round

KILLESTER UNITED v CRUMLIN UNITED

Not many sides have managed to defeat Killester this season, but Crumlin United were one of them when they got the better of Joey Graydon's boys in the Leinster Senior Cup. Tomorrow, though, is a different matter altogether. The Intermediate Cup is at the top of the priority list for both clubs, along with the league, and both will mean business. This has the potential to be a classic, a classic that Crumlin will shade, but only just. Verdict: Away Win.

FAI INTERMEDIATE CUP 4th Round Replay

LUCAN UNITED v PHOENIX

The Nix have it all to do. They will not like the idea of having to head to Lucan tomorrow, especially after missing the chance of finishing this tie off on their own patch a couple of weeks ago. Lucan will be fired up from the off, but if the Senior Division side can withstand an early onslaught, then they should make the quarter finals. Verdict: Away Win.

SENIOR DIVISION

BLUEBELL UNITED v CHERRY ORCHARD

With Crumlin off on Inter Cup duty, Bluebell can stretch their lead at the summit of the Senior Division to a healthy eight points, provided they defeat Cherry Orchard. Victory will be hard fought for the 'Bell, as Orchard rarely give up anything easily. Expect sparks to fly, but both sides may have to settle for a point apiece. Verdict: Draw.
