City 11/8 to sign Rooney

You would have got fancy enough prices about Wayne Rooney leaving Manchester United when the current season started. You may have even been nearly locked up if you looked for a price for him to join Manchester City in January.

Now his departure is one of the biggest certainties to have a price beside it, and Manchester City are favourites to be his third club. All giving Manchester United fans further headaches after what has been a frustrating start to the season.

City are 11/8 to be Rooney's next employer, while Real Madrid and Barcelona are 5/2 and 4/1 respectively. Chelsea are 5/1 to secure his future.

Boylesports make Rooney 3/1 to score against United this season and 20/1 to score a hat-trick on his debut for his next club. He is 6/4 to play at Old Trafford against United this season.

With or without Rooney, United travel to Stoke this weekend as they try and get back to winning ways in the league and surprisingly enough Rooney is still as short as 4/1 to score the first goal, which looks far from generous.

Apparently more generous is United's price for this game. There is a grey cloud of turmoil around Old Trafford, but 8/11 seems too big to turn down and €11 on to win €8 or €110 on to win €80 for the bigger players will surely be enticing.

Manchester City play host to all this Rooney speculation and on Sunday Arsenal are in town to try and knock them off their perch as current title contenders.

Blackpool had City rattled, but they have shown time and time again what they can do in the league and side with them to defeat Arsenal at 11/8 despite the Gunners' facile win in Europe in midweek.

Liverpool are another club obtaining plenty column inches in recent weeks and the daggers could be getting closer to Roy Hodgson after Sunday's clash at Anfield against Blackburn. A 0-0 draw is 9/1.

Chelsea will comprehensively beat Wolves at Stamford Bridge and -2 at 11/10 is one of the best bets of the weekend. The same price is offered for the total match goals to be over 3.5. West Brom (6/5) are a good price at home to Fulham and Blackpool are 11/4 and tipped to beat Birmingham.
