CELTIC fans woke to double trouble after they crashed out of the Champions League and Europa Cup last night.

No European football until July and manager Neil Lennon is now the top target for struggling Premier League clubs.

A crushing 3-0 defeat to AC Milan ended Celtic's slim hopes of moving into the Champions League knockout phase and put Premier League club chairmen on alert.

Glory

Lennon accepts that he needs better players around him to make a big impression in the Champions League.

"I think that has been apparent over the course of the campaign," said Lennon.

"Realistically, getting into the Champions League was fantastic for us.

"We have to improve if we are going to continue to play in the Champions League.

"Some of the players have covered themselves in glory, but it is mainly the defensive end of the pitch we are talking about."
