Carrick: Don't write United off

MICHAEL CARRICK insists it would be a mistake to write Manchester United off despite their current lack of goals.

It’s been a bad week for some Premier League clubs already as Arsenal, Chelsea and Blackburn all exited the competition so there is some nervousness among the United support ahead of tonight’s quarter-final at home to a Crystal Palace side which is captained by Dubliner Paddy McCarthy.

United have scored just 15 times in the last 10 games but England man Carrick has stated that United’s season cannot be written off.

“With United, it always seems to be the case that if you lose a game or have an indifferent match or two the roof caves in, or that is what people on the outside seem to think,” Carrick said.

“Experience tells us to be patient. People can write us off if they want but hopefully we will be there at the end of the season.”
