Carlo on his last chance
CARLO Ancelotti has thrown himself at the mercy of Roman Abramovich on the eve of a Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen which could seal his fate.
Bounced out of the FA Cup by Everton and trailing 12 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester United, Ancelotti's last hope is the Champions League but he will not walk away from Stamford Bridge - win lose or draw, despite being linked with the vacant Roma job after the departure of Claudio Ranieiri.
"No, not me. I don't have to consider my position. It is the owner that has to consider my position, not myself," said Ancelotti.
Ancelotti put out his strongest team against Everton but the performance had all the hallmarks of a group of players closing in on their sell-by date.
Tomorrow's game against Copenhagn is now the focus of Chelsea's season and Ancelotti, despite feverish speculation about his future, remains confident.
"The Champions League is not easy, but it will bring a lot of motivation for every one of us. Chelsea won't go out against Copenhagen."
