Cardiff's praise for Mason
CARDIFF CITY boss Malky Mackay is happy with the form of Ireland U21 striker Joe Mason despite a defeat by Blackpool on Saturday.
Mason, who has been capped three times at U21 level, put Cardiff in front at home to the Seasiders but could not prevent a defeat.
"I thought Joe Mason was really lively and always looked a danger," said the Cardiff boss. "He was like that from the minute he came on and even to the end, as if he was going to nick a goal, and he did."
Lomas hails star Sheridan
STEVE LOMAS hailed the impact of St Johnstone's Irish striker Cillian Sheridan after he helped keep the club in the Scottish Cup.
Sheridan, who is on loan to the Saints from CSKA Sofia, came off the bench and scored the equaliser for St Johnstone away to Hearts, sending the cup tie to a replay.
"When the big man's fit, he's got every attribute to be a top, top striker. It was a nice cool finish," Lomas said.
