FORMER Ireland U21 cap Ben Burgess says he wants to stay on at Blackpool, writes Aidan Fitzmaurice.
The striker helped the Seasiders win promotion to the Premier League, but he is currently out of contract and boss Ian Holloway has not said if the ex-Blackburn man will be offered a new deal to stay on at Bloomfield Road.
"I had a chat with the gaffer, he explained things and said we would meet again," said Burgess.
"I am definitely keen to speak about it in the next couple of weeks.
"Of course I want to stay at Blackpool because I've been here since the promotion season from League One and the club means a lot to me.
"Hopefully we can sort something out," the former Hull City man added.
