ST PATRICK'S Athletic have announced the re-signing of Conor McCormack for next season.
Originally signed as a midfielder last season by Saints boss Liam Buckley, McCormack (24) also played at right full-back for the club, filling in for captain Ger O'Brien.
McCormack, who signed for the Inchicore club from Shamrock Rovers, came on as a substitute for O'Brien in the final 20 minutes of the FAI Cup final win over Derry City recently, helping the Saints end their 53-year wait for the title.
McCormack will be joined at St Pat's by Ciaran Kilduff and Jason McGuinness who left Rovers to join the Saints on Tuesday.
Boss Buckley is busy preparing for next season and is keen to sign up the bulk of the squad that won the President's Cup, Leinster Senior Cup and FAI Cup last season.
While the Saints lost midfielder Keith Fahey to Rovers on Tuesday, Buckley is hopeful of retaining the services of 27-goal striker Chris Fagan and Chris Forrester.
Meanwhile, Premier Division champions Dundalk have re-signed goalkeeper Gabriel Sava who will challenge Gary Rogers for the number one slot next season.
