Brendan Rodgers: Everton will be glad to see the back of Steven Gerrard
LIVERPOOL boss Brendan Rodgers is predicting a red-hot reception for Steven Gerrard when the Anfield skipper pays his last visit to Goodison Park tomorrow.
Gerrard scored in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Everton at Anfield in September and that was his tenth goal in the fixture.
"I think the Everton fans will be glad to see the back of him," the Liverpool boss said. "He's been an incredible player for this club, he's played in so many derby games and been outstanding in them.
"He'll go into the game like he does every game, wanting to win for his club. It'll be no different this weekend."
With the prospect of a Wembley appearance for Gerrard still very much alive after the midweek FA Cup win over Bolton, Rodgers believes that Liverpool will give him other chances for a proper send off.
"We've got a European competition as well, we've got an FA Cup where we can get to the final, and obviously we can challenge into the top four - and not just fourth, but beyond that."
