ROBBIE BRADY hopes to take his Hull City form on to the international stage next month.

Brady is one of only two Irish players to have scored in the English Premier League so far this season (Séamus Coleman was also on target for Everton) as he netted the only goal of the game for Hull in their win over Norwich City last weekend.

Last night, his 106th-minute effort proved enough as Steve Bruce's side battled to a 1-0 League Cup win over League One leaders Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road.

Brady had been on the field for barely a minute after replacing Aaron McLean in the added half-hour before slotting home the only goal of the game.

He should be back in the Tigers' XI for Saturday's clash with Manchester City, and a day later he will hook up with the Ireland panel in Dublin for the World Cup double header.

"I've got myself into the Ireland squad and we have two qualifiers coming up next week so hopefully I'll get a run out in both of them," says Brady, happy that his side got their first win of the season against Norwich last weekend.

"We had a great season last year and now this win over Norwich is a statement that this is where we belong.

"It shows people that we can compete and succeed at this level. We have good players and I think we're more than capable of playing at this level.

"Hopefully, we can keep showing this and get some good results along the way," added Brady, who feels vindicated by his decision to leave Manchester United last season.

"It's a big step leaving United. It's a massive club and I didn't know anything else but them. But it was the right decision in the end," said Brady. "I left United on good terms. The six years I was there really helped me as a footballer.

"I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for United and Alex Ferguson. I really enjoyed my time there. This is a new chapter and I'm really happy.

"I left on good terms, with Sir Alex's blessing."
