NO football finals would be complete without the cheesy team anthem -- and this one is no different.

And while many purists argue about the virtues of taking the much-loved anthem The Rocky Road To Dublin and turning it into The Rocky Road To Poland -- the event itself looked like a lot of fun.

There was no trip to a fancy recording studio with the Irish squad preparing for tonight's game with the Czechs, so Damien Dempsey met the team at their headquarters at the Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links.

The folk singer led the team through lines which mentioned "credit union loans", "Opel Corsas" and even Giovanni Trapattoni's famous quote that "the cat is in the sack".

All proceeds from the song will go to Today FM's Shave or Dye campaign to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society and John Giles Foundation. The song is expected to top the charts here when released in April. A whole host of stars are expected to lend their musical talent to the tune, with Damien joined by Bressie, Danny O'Reilly from the Coronas and folk heroes The Dubliners getting together to record the song. The lyrics were assembled using suggestions made by listeners of the Ray D'Arcy Show on Today FM. Lyrics include: "Make your mother proud, bate your bodhran loud and learn your Polish grammar. Credit union loan, sold the Opel Corsa, hired a campervan and picked it up in Warsaw".
