Bohs chase Dylan deal
Bohemians hope to be able to complete a deal to bring in former UCD man Dylan Watts as the solution to their striker shortage.
Bohs boss Keith Long has made five major signing in the close season but disaster struck before the campaign even began as forward Ryan Swan, signed as a replacement for Ismahil Akinade, suffered an injury in pre-season training and is out for at least six months, leaving Dinny Corcoran as the only senior recognised striker.
And Dubliner Watts (20) could now join up with the Gypsies, if the club can agree a deal with Leicester City.
Watts joined the Foxes from UCD in September 2016, after an impressive run of form with the Students, and did feature for Leicester's U23 side, but he was unable to progress to the first team at the King Power Stadium.
His contract there expires in the summer and Bohs hope to conclude a deal to sign the Blackrock native.
One player on his way to England from the League of Ireland is stiker Chiedozie Ogbene.
The former Cork City player stood out for Limerick FC last term and after trials with a number of cross-channel clubs, Brentford are close to securing his services. Aston Villa had looked at Ogbene but Championship rivals Brentford are now the favourites to sign him. Limerick team-mate Barry Cotter is also being linked with a move away as he was on trial with Ipswich Town last week.
