MAN OF THE MATCH
Robbie Brady got the TV vote but John O'Shea (pictured) deserved it. A rock at the heart of the defence.
MOAN OF THE MATCH
Awful game, full of mistakes, poor shooting and bad passing. Not great fare for the paying customers.
SAVE OF THE MATCH
Just one of note, a full length dive from Given to keep out Andros Townsend
Didn't get Wes Hoolahan on the pitch but will be happy he avoided defeat before Scotland.
Keiren Westwood: Very little to do against a misfiring Rooney and Co. 6
Seamus Coleman: Decent performance and he looked the fittest on the pitch. 6
John O'Shea: Like a fine wine, he's getting better with age. 7
Robbie Brady: Much better in the full-back slot. He learns fast. 6
Aiden McGeady: Lively and very good defensively. 6
Glenn Whelan: Solid and strong throughout. Certain for Scotland. 6
James McCarthy: Mixed good with bad. Looked rusty. 6
Jeff Kendrick: Another who looked like he needed the game. 5
Daryl Murphy: Had his chances but didn't take one. 5
David McGoldrick: More than a yard of the pace and needed the game. 5
Shane Long: Caused England some problems but no end product. 6
Harry Arter: Busy and brave when he came on. One decent shot. 6
James McClean: Always makes an impact off the bench and again in this one. 6
Jon Walters: Took the fight to England and did well. 6
Shay Given: Made a good save to keep the score level. 6
Paul McShane: Two great late blocks by the Wicklowman. 6
