Battle on for free agent Watts
Bohemians now face a battle to hold on to Dylan Watts after Leicester City confirmed they were releasing the Dubliner.
Watts (22) had been on loan to Bohs since the start of this season, seeing out his existing contract with the Foxes and he was waiting to see if they'd offer him a new deal. If he had re-signed with the Foxes, Bohs hoped to agree another loan spell until the end of the 2018 season.
But Leicester have confirmed that Watts is one of five players to be let go and the ex-UCD man is now a free agent.
Bohs are keen to retain Watts but a number of rival clubs in Ireland are also eager to sign the midfielder, Waterford and Dundalk top of the queue.
Watts is one of 11 Irish players let go by Premier League teams this summer: Joe Quigley (Bournemouth), Dessie Hutchinson and Rian O'Sullivan (Brighton), Khius Metz (Burnley), Damien Delaney (Crystal Palace), Sam Byrne (Everton), Stephen Ireland and Shola Ayoola (Stoke), Robbie McCourt and Evan Pierce (West Brom).
Former Ireland youth cap John O'Sullivan has joined Blackpool from Carlisle United while fellow midfielder Michael Timlin moves to Stevenage from Southend.
