BARMBY CALLS ON KILBANE TO KEEP PLAYING

KEVIN KILBANE has been urged not to retire from playing despite taking up a new coaching role with Hull City, writes AIDAN FITZMAURICE.

Kilbane, who is not in the running for the Sligo Rovers manager's job, has not played for Hull since December due to a back injury and has been ruled out for the rest of the season. He has since been handed the role of "development coach" at the club, but Barmby wants the veteran to carry on his playing career. "I'm

still hopeful

that he won't

give up on his

football just

yet because

I still believe he's

got a good couple of

years in him," said

Barmby. "Time will tell

when he comes back

from the injury but I

think he'll be fine.

Ultimately, the decision

will be made by Kev."
