Anfield is back on the map
ANFIELD is back on the map for the world's best players and Liverpool will reap a huge reward from Kenny Dalglish's second coming.
That's the message from Anfield director of football Damien Comolli, who believes that yesterday's Carling Cup victory and Dalglish's vision will make the club a hot target for top players again.
"We already know that there are big players who want to join us next summer because they believe in the project," claimed Comolli after the penalty shoot-out win over Cardiff.
"Everybody in Europe knows what Liverpool football club are trying to do. Obviously the fact that we're back playing in Europe and we've won the trophy, it's all positive.
"There's a very positive vibe about the club around Europe. A lot of players I know are very interested about joining the project because it's a very interesting one," he said.
Comolli's optimism ties in nicely with Steven Gerrard's upbeat assessment of the road ahead.
"It would be stupid if we accept just this. We need more, we want more," claimed the Liverpool skipper.
