Soccer: Caritas College carry the flag for Dublin in Under-19 Leinster Girls League
CARITAS College will carry the Dublin flag into the semi-finals of the Under-19 Leinster Girls League competition.
The Ballyfermot school travel to Tullamore on Tuesday (1.30) to take on recent Senior Cup winners Sacred Heart.
Richie Farrell's side are the only capital school left in the competition after their five-star quarter-final display.
While Alexandra College, Manor House, Raheny and Mercy College, Beaumont were eliminated in the last-eight, Caritas beat East Glendalough 1-0.
Caritas goalkeeper Niamh Coombes is currently representing her country at the Bob Doherty Cup in Glasgow and will hopefully energise the squad on her return for Tuesday.
In the other semi-final, St Mary's Naas will host Eureka College, Kells for the second place in this year's showpiece.
Elsewhere, the two remaining Leinster girls cups down for decision will be decided in the coming fortnight. Wilson's Hospital, Multyfarnham will take on St Laurence's College in the First Year B Cup final - with the latter looking to make up for an Under-15 showpiece defeat recently.
A double is actually on the cards for Wilson's Hospital as their Minor B girls take on Lusk CC in the Under-15 provincial decider. The Westmeath school have made huge strides in recent years under manager Gavan Kierans and could be on the cusp of claiming the end-of-season limelight.
