Andrew's find that bit extra to take Leinster
Golf leinster Senior Boys Final
ST ANDREW’S College won the Leinster final of the Irish Schools Senior Championship which took place last Monday at Beech Park Golf Club, narrowly defeating Dunshaughlin Community College on the 19th hole.
The Booterstown school now progress to represent Leinster in the All Ireland finals at Farnham Estate Golf Club in Cavan on April 21.
They won the five-match battle 3-2 with Ziggy Agnew winning the tie on an extra hole ahead of Conor Mooney in the decisive match. Robert Browne had seen off Enda Kennedy by two holes while Charlie Denvir was a five and four winner over Kyle Donnelly to win their other two matches.
Charlie Marshall, however, was undone by William McCarthy by two holes and Senan O’Muiri got the better of Harry Sutton two and one for Dunshaughlin to tie the battle up at two matches each. With Agnew and Mooney finishing all square, they required the extra hole to break the deadlock.
